Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 4.0

Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 4.0 must be used to print our download files. Version 3.01 is buggy and will not print properly. If you have the Reader program installed on your hard drive and are already familiar with using the Reader, proceed now to download the file. Otherwise, Adobe Acrobat Reader instructions are found below. I highly recommend you print this page of instructions for reference until you are familiar with the Reader program and PDF files.

Adobe Acrobat Reader Instructions

Adobe Acrobat Reader (AAR) is an application program that is designed to read a special format file with the extension PDF. A PDF file is greatly compressed which makes it very useful to send files for download or as e-mail attachments. Think of the AAR program like a specialized word processor that only reads and prints a particular type of file format (.pdf).

You must have AAR Version 4.0 to properly print the PDF files. Version, 3.01, is buggy and does not print graphics clearly. Version 4.0 is available as a free download from the Download page on our Web site. Once AAR is downloaded from our Web site, the application (Adobe Acrobat Reader) must be installed.

The Downloaded File: The file name of the AAR application that is downloaded is called ar40eng.exe (for Adobe Reader version 4.0,  english) and is for Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT. Whenever you download a file, your browser requires that you choose where to save it. Most users have a default setting where downloads are saved. If you have downloaded the file and do not know where it is, use the Windows Find-File command for the ar40eng.exe file.

You must now install the application. Simply double-click on the file ar40eng.exe and it will prompt you for the installation procedure. You now have the Adobe Acrobat Reader program installed and included as one of the programs on the Windows Start Button under Programs|Adobe Acrobat.

To Print A Reader PDF File: Open the Acrobat Reader program. Go to File and select Open. Open the PDF file. The files are not meant to be read from the monitor as the chart examples will be distorted on the monitor but will print clearly.
